Chiropractic adjustments don’t generally hurt, although individual responses can vary. Following the adjustment, there may be some muscles and ligaments that will need to adapt to your new movement and posture. This can sometimes cause some soreness and stiffness in certain areas. This is fairly common and quite normal but usually only lasts a day or two. If you’ve ever started a new exercise you’ll know that this is naturally accompanied by some soreness and tenderness. Putting an ice pack on the area for 10-20 minutes can help.
The cracking or popping noise when you receive an adjustment is called cavitation and is gas being released from the joints. This is normal. It results from a rapid change in pressure within the joint and does not need to occur for treatment to be effective.

There is no set number of appointments that is right for everyone. The recommended frequency and duration of care will depend on your symptoms, assessment findings, goals and response to treatment. Your care should be reviewed as you progress, and any recommendations should be explained to you.
Everyone responds differently, so it isn't possible to guarantee exactly how quickly symptoms will improve. Factors such as the nature and duration of your problem, your general health, age, activity levels and response to care may influence progress. Following your assessment, Timothy can explain what he considers a reasonable treatment approach and review this with you as care progresses.
We try to see Patients within a few days but this can vary depending on our availability and your schedule.
The initial consultation is £85 and a regular adjustment visit is £56. If X-rays are clinically indicated, they cost £75-£150 depending on the number of images required. Any recommended costs will be explained before proceeding.
